Community Involvement is something very important to us as a company. We live, work and play in St. Louis, and we’re dedicated to doing our part to improve the city where we can. At Office Essentials, we have a “team within the team” called the Impact Team that helps direct our community initiatives. This year, they have organized our first Winter Warm-Up. Our goal is to help collect gently used (and freshly laundered) coats, scarves, hats and gloves for St. Louis’ homeless men, women & children. Our primary beneficiary will be the St. Patrick’s Center, but we hope to collect enough that we can help other local homeless shelters and charities.
We have collection boxes around our office to collect old items we are no longer using — whether it’s an old coat that is no longer of use, a jacket your child has outgrown or a scarf and glove gift set that’s been sitting at the top of your closet for a few years — and give them to someone in our community who can use it in the coming winter months. St. Patrick’s Center has told us that their greatest need is men’s and women’s sizes L & XL coats and new long underwear, regular underwear and socks. That said, we will be accepting anything from infant to elderly! If you would like to participate, but don’t have any unused clothing around, we’ll also accept monetary donations, which our Impact Team will use to purchase the new items like long underwear.
Anyone is welcome to participate. Below is a flyer with more details. If your office would like to get involved, The Impact Team will provide a collection bin and coordinate a drop pick up your items.
So please look around your house in the coming weeks and let us know if there is anything you are no longer using. We hope to distribute a lot of needed items to St. Patrick’s Center and beyond before the cold weather arrives.
