Rather than adding on to existing furniture, some employers are pushing toward a full redesign of their offices. Local furniture dealers said the increased flexibility with remote work pushed clients to evaluate the function of their office. For many, dedicating a majority of space to individual cubicles and offices no longer makes sense.
“Many more companies are changing their footprint, moving to more collaborative and less private spaces,” said Chris Fortune, furniture and interiors manager at Office Essentials. “The theory is that if you want privacy, go home and work. Come into the office to share ideas, collaborate, and innovate in group settings.”
