By now you have heard the news that HP has announced plans to separate into two new publicly traded companies: one comprising HP’s enterprise infrastructure, software and services businesses, which will do business as Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, and one that will comprise HP’s printing and personal computer businesses, which will do business as HP Inc.
This is great news for you, our customers. By focusing each company on the things they do best, HP can accelerate the pace of their innovation and simplify your interactions with each company via Office Essentials. (We will remain an HP authorized reseller.)
Hewlett-Packard Enterprise will have a unique portfolio and strong multi-year innovation roadmap across services, infrastructure and software to allow you to take full advantage of the opportunities presented by cloud, big data, security and mobility in the New Style of IT.
HP Inc. will be a proven leader in the PC and printing markets with exciting new technologies on the horizon. The new company will focus on growth markets such as 3-D printing and new computing experiences. At the same time, HP Inc. will work to ensure continuity for current customers.
By creating two new companies, each will have the independence, focus, financial resources and flexibility needed to adapt quickly to market and customer dynamics.
We have spoken to our HP representation, and they are very excited about the news, and what is in store for you in the near future. They believe that the split will allow each company to be nimbler and more responsive, focusing solely on making your experience with them seamless and valuable..
The split will take about a year to enact, and at this point, everything is business as usual. We will keep you updated of all important developments as the next year moves along, and if you have questions in the meantime, please reach out to us.
